Mar 23, 2019 · My guess is that your original video specify a different aspect ratio, that VLC respects (hence it stretches the video horizontally). Unfortunaly, that property is not accessible within matlab. The MP4 format is sufficiently complex that extracting that information within matlab without the help of a library would be substantial work. The data aspect ratio is the relative length of the data units along the x -axis, y -axis, and z -axis. Specify ratio as a three-element vector of positive values that represent the relative lengths of data units along each axis. x = linspace (0,10); y = sin (x); plot (x,y) Add another sine wave to the axes using hold on. Keep the current axis limits by setting the limits mode to manual. y2 = 2*sin (x); hold on axis manual plot (x,y2) hold off. If you want the axes to choose the appropriate limits, set the limits mode back to automatic.

Theme. Copy. subplot (5,1,3) ax = gca; ax.Position (4) = 1.3*ax.Position (4) You can also change the Position of the figure, to add more height overall. Theme. Copy. fig = gcf;Create four coordinate vectors: x, y1, y2, and y3. Call the tiledlayout function with the 'flow' argument to create a tiled chart layout that can accommodate any number of axes. Call the nexttile function to create the first axes. Then plot y1 in the first tile. This first plot fills the entire layout. The natural logarithm function in MATLAB is log(). To calculate the natural logarithm of a scalar, vector or array, A, enter log(A). Log(A) calculates the natural logarithm of each element of A when A is a vector or array. The box aspect is the ratio between axes height and axes width in physical units, independent of the data limits. This is useful to e.g. produce a square plot, independent of the data it contains, or to have a usual plot with the same axes dimensions next to an image plot with fixed (data-)aspect. The following lists a few use cases for set_box ...The smaller dimension adjusts to preserve the aspect ratio of the image. To view images at their full resolution, use MATLAB desktop or set the MaxRenderedResolution property of the output Image object to "none". For details about the MaxRenderedResolution property, see Image Properties.2. Consider the simple code below that generates a straight downward sloping line in MATLAB. clear, clc, close all t = 0:0.1:1; y = -t+1; plot (t,y) ax = gca. This is a line with slope -1, so the (acute) angle between the horizontal axis and the line is 45 degrees. Except it isn't when you measure with a protractor on your monitor. The axes might select new axis tick mark locations as well. f = gcf; f.Position (3) = f.Position (3) * 0.67; Reshaping the axes to fit into the figure window can change the aspect ratio of the graph. MATLAB fits the axes to fill the position rectangle and in the process can distort the shape.Use either of them depending on the type of presentation you want to create. For example, display an image. Use the axis function to preserve the aspect ratio of the image. figure C = imread ( "ngc6543a.jpg" ); ax = axes; image (C) axis image. Get the position vector by calling the tightPosition function. Get the new limits of the map using the command [nlat nlon] = geolimits (gb). The aspect ratio formulas that connect the above quantities for the ratio converter are: H1/W1 = H2/W2, H1 * A% = H2, and. W1 * A% = W2. You don't need to know the details by heart; if the initial resolution is commonly used, use the list to choose the appropriate ratio: Proportions; It works for me. From the docs: Create a figure with specified aspect ratio. If arg is a number, use that aspect ratio. > If arg is an array, figaspect will determine the width and height for a figure that would fit array preserving aspect ratio.
