The Department of Chemistry offers several degree options for graduate students: Master's-level students may pursue an MS in Chemistry or MS in Medicinal Chemistry. Doctoral-level students may pursue a PhD in Chemistry or PhD in Medicinal Chemistry. Undergraduate students are eligible for the combined BS/MS in Medicinal Chemistry.Medicinal chemistry is the science of understanding and designing new and more potent therapeutic agents to address modern problems in health and medicine. This is accomplished through a multidisciplinary approach including techniques such as organic synthesis, high-throughput screening, computational modeling, and structure based drug design.
