The Piety is a custom run of a previously prototype design of a Magni by Schiit that was taken by longtime audio community member CeeTee and produced by hand on a small-scale with his own branding, Nitsch. This Piety borrows some of its Continuity circuit amplifier topology from Schiit's Jotunheim 2, but in a much smaller form factor.The raison d'être for Mjolnir 2 is versatility. Yes, it is reasonably powerful, but the flexibility to run both balanced and single-ended inputs and outputs, to adjust gain (+18 decibels), and to roll not only a wide variety of tubes but Schiit's revolutionary linear, integral solid-state tubes (LISST) makes a compelling case for Mjolnir 2 ...Schiit has a nice hefty linear power supply, line regulation is on every voltage rail. The unique wall-wort supplies 2 AC voltages, one for the heater and the other for the low-voltage rail for the output and the high voltage rail for the tube. Today, the company has a line of audio components that all start with entry-level prices, usually around $99. Schiit Audio’s first break came in 2010 in the form of good press. Qutest is more of a high resolution DAC with great separation and imaging.
